The country kitchen naturally becomes the heart of the house. Long breakfasts, shared meals and conversations that linger long after the plates have been cleared are all part of the rhythm of staying here.
Beautifully equipped for cooking together, it invites everyone to gather around the table.
Vintage cutlery, fine crockery and table linens ensure meals can be as simple or lavish as you would like them to be.
Gardens & Coast
The view from The Longhouse is nothing short of breathtaking and you can easily while away a day gazing at the surf and sea; armed with a book in hand from our library.
Epic sunrises are a good reason to rise early for a little meditation, yoga or a stroll on the beach.
The expansive ocean views make a great excuse for sundowners on the lawn.
Enjoy the southern night skies from our firepit or hot-tub - taking in the southern constellations and just perhaps a glimpse of the southern borealis.
Acres of gardens & extensive lawns means there are green spaces to explore.
The extensive grounds includes a kitchen garden, orchard, lawns and native borders full of birdsong.
Beach access from the house on a rough track that runs down to the beach.

Yes. The Longhouse is booked on an exclusive use basis to one party at a time who have private use of the entire property and amenities during their stay.

There are six en-suite guest bedrooms sleeping up to twelve adults.
The Longhouse has a large lounge, formal dining room and country kitchen complete with kitchen garden.
An enclosed verandah runs the length of the house - capturing incredible coastal views and sun all day long.

$2,200 inc GST per night for 10 pax in high season. (1st Nov - 30th April)
$2,000 inc GST per night for 10 pax in low season. ( 1st May - 31st October)
Price per additional adult to 12 pax max: $115 inc GST per person per night
We have a minimum 2 night stay throughout the year.
We have a minimum 3 night stay over peak season dates (20th Dec-10th Jan, Easter week)

We are able to customise your stay with a bespoke itinerary whilst staying at the Longhouse. This may include day trips to Dunedin and surrounding environs, local fishing charter, Karitane Maori Tours, Kayaking trips, surfing lessons, a fully catered stay or any wellness treatments available at the Longhouse.
We can provide catered dining or a private chef
We are able to organise bike hire/ massage/ yoga or qi gong classes surfing lessons, fishing trips and more
